We were forced to cancel all events and catering events. We wanted to stay connected to our community so we made the decision to do this through home delivery services; this is something we've wanted to introduce. It's probably one of the best decisions we've made.

Step outside your comfort zone and collaborate with a fellow entrepreneur and realize that as a BIPOC the structure of the table was not meant for us – by doing so, both parties can create grounded and rooted relationships that actively participate in the wellbeing of a community.

$20.00

We are proudly giving 50% of sales of our Made in India Turmeric Tote to the Black Lives Matter movement through Black Food Toronto: A Food Sovereignty Initiative.

We have reduced the price from $25 to $20 to make purchasing this 100% sustainable eco tote easier and more affordable. If you live in Toronto, we are offering curbside pickup and can offer free delivery depending on your address. As of Monday June 8th, we have 44 totes in stock. Once we are sold out we will be able to donate $440 to Black Food Toronto and will publicly share our donation to ensure 100% transparency.

Our Turmeric Tote is the perfect size for carrying all your fresh groceries home. Access to fresh, healthy food is a persistent problem for the Black community in Toronto and all around the world and is reflective of systemic racial injustice. This is one of the ways we seek to act and hope you will join us!

From Black Food Toronto

The Afri-Can FoodBasket is a community based non-profit organization that has been at the forefront of championing Food Justice and Food Sovereignty for Toronto’s African, Caribbean, Black (ACB) community since 1995.

In response to the impact COVID-19 is having on members of our community the Afri-Can FoodBasket is proud to launch a food sovereignty initiative that will support members of the African, Caribbean, Black (ACB) community to access fresh produce during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Through this initiative our team is coordinating weekly deliveries of Fresh Fruits and Vegetables at no cost to members of the ACB community who needs support.
